[Well, it's safe to say Chell has never seen a talking lion, but she DOES NOT TRUST HIM AT ALL. He's probably like those robots, trying to lure her into a false sense of security so he can beat her when she's down.
Logically she knows she can't outrun a lion, so she continues slowly backing away, maintaining the fierce look on her face.
